Camping at Mt Washington
Self-contained RV camping in designated lots — free, first-come, first-served. Restrictions and seasons apply.
Overnight camping during summer at Mt Washington Alpine Resort is permitted only in designated parking areas — a convenient free option for self-contained RV units. There are no power or water hookups; campers may use the washrooms at the Hawk Chairlift. No campfires are permitted on Mt Washington property.
Where to park & camp
Summer Bike Park (Hawk Lot)
Bike Park overnight camping in the Hawk Parking Lot is permitted throughout the summer season. For special events like the Washy Mountain Music Fair or the VI Bike Fest Canada Cup, overnight camping relocates to Lot 4.
Winter: Sunrise Lot
Self-contained RV overnight parking, first-come / first-served. No water, sewer, or power. Maximum stay: 2 nights. Snow clearing may occur day or night — all vehicles must be prepared to relocate.
Winter: Nordic Lot (Strathcona Park users)
Register with staff at Raven Lodge before parking. Same conditions as Sunrise.
Never park overnight in
Lots 1, 2, or 3. These are day-use only.
The Base Parking Area sits 2 km west of the Hwy 19 / Strathcona Parkway intersection. Park your car and take the Mt Washington Shuttle Bus to and from the Alpine Lodge. The Ski & Ride Shuttle runs December–April from pickup locations throughout the Comox Valley — no advance reservations required.
